The gunpowder treason and plot
So they usually have a lil celebration on or around the 5th November to celebrate the day they uncovered the gunpowder plot of Guy Fawkes and his friends. They were a bunch of Roman Catholic conspirators who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament, killing the King and most of the Protestant aristocracy. Heheh. A lil Christian disagreement going on here?
They were subsequently hanged, drawn and quartered, and no, Amir, that does not involve a sketchbook nor a pen.
So they had fireworks down at the charming little Glasgow Greens on the pretext of celebrating the bid for Glasgow 2014. Pfft.
I know no reason why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
It was mad cold and even tho we all bundled up like mad - four layers of sweaters, beanie, knitted scarf, leather gloves - we still felt icy in our extremities especially our fingers. My shoes have aeration holes in them and today I woke up and my toes felt a tinge of rheumatism.
Wished they had had a bonfire too. That would have warmed us up real well.
Haih. But the fireworks were quite nice. There were some really pretty mushrooming-like ones you don't see in Malaysia. And very nice attempt at coordinating the music almost-in-time with the fireworks display.
Aight, scram!
