I knew this girl back in college who used to bet so much on sports. She would win a little, lose a little but she mostly won. Come World Cup time, she'd only check the newspapers for match results and then cry for joy or grunt with annoyance depending on whether or not she won.
And she'd win hundreds of ringgit and I used to think that she's really silly to put so much money on the line and that she's really lucky not to lose so much as to throw her in debt. Or maybe she was really rich so she didn't really care whether she lost a few hundred or not. I guess earning money doing the least amount of work is such an attractive idea that people just keep coming back for more.
I can't say I know much about sport betting because as far as I'm concerned, it's all just a bunch of odds and whatnot that I find too hard to understand. I just know stuff like "I'll bet £10 that Germany will win the World Cup this year!" and "You're on!". That's as far as I know but apparently there are strategies involved in this. The scary fact is that people actually do this on a professional level and they do earn quite a lot of money.
Oh well, whatever floats your boat, right?
