Wasn't the only one I saw these past few weeks. Might be a good sign. Heheh.
And since the last post opened up the food topic, eh, might as well:put this up. Nothing to prove, I know, but yay for little achievements for me.
I'm guessing the housies are either making good use of their FMT books or furiously scribbling into their PP3 protocols page right now. I did mine in say 20mins and I've run out of things to add in it. But enough about uni work. I still can't believe I'm studying in Glasgow. I am finally one of those Malaysian students 'abroad'.
I like how there are songs on my laptop I still have not listened to. This dry patch of no downloading is getting to me. I want my fix of new music. Sensation's Thai Sweet Chilli crisps (they call them crisps here) will be the death of me.
Hey! a funky song title!
I don't desperately miss home-cooked food. Maybe I'm used to it. My theory is that, though tasty, the food cooked in my home is usually really simple dishes that are easy to make. The same chicken curry recipe day in day out or fried ikan served with sambal and some simple stir-fry vege, nothing I can't reproduce in the kitchen here.
Ok I lie, I need a blender and dry chilli so I can make sambal! I NEED my sambal la dangnamit!
And the variety of seafood here is this...: Frozen. I don't really find any FRESH seafood. I wonder why because the sea is just an hour's train ride away. Maybe I need to find some wet market or smth similar here. So yea, I definitely miss the kunyit prawns, sotong hitam, asam pedas ikan merah (ohhh that's the best), ikan kembung!
I can definitely say I miss having other people cook for me. It's nice to lay back and let others do the cooking so you can selamba into the kitchen after an evening nap and find hot meals waiting on the table, yours to take and do as you please.
And if you've read this far, I'm surprised you didn't spend your few minutes doing something else more worthwhile than this. Hahah.
