A Dull Thud.

And then the greatest sense of epiphany.

Not that the whole meaning of the universe came to her right then.

But she got up and realised she doesn't know what to do.

And wondered throughout the day if everyone else felt the same way.

So she stuffed two tshirts and clean underwear, a thick novel and a piece of string into a large bag and set off.

Where to? they asked.

To find out, she replied.

Not quite innocent, not quite knowing, not quite anything.

But the possibility was enough to keep her going.

To lead her on.
